TURKISH ADANA KEBAB
TURKISH ADANA KEBAB

Hello and Assalaam Alaikum Lovely People!!!

Today I am here with a very popular dish of Turkey i.e. Adana Kebab, the name Adana Kebab comes from the fifth largest city in Turkey and this dish is also known as Qeema Kebab (which means minced meat Kebab).
It is commonly made with the minced meat of lamb however, for a change, I have tried this recipe with minced chicken.

This recipe is simple and very light, and is a great dish to try during Ramadan for iftar. I am sure every single one in your home is going to love this.

Let's begin with the recipe.

Prep Time: 15 Mins
Cooking Time: 15 Mins
Serves: 3-4 individuals

3. Next we will add the corn flour which acts as a binding agent to the minced chicken, make sure you add a generous amount and mix all the ingredients well. Lastly add the Kashmiri red chilli, it is optional, however I prefer adding a small amount of it to the chicken. Lastly, add a Tbsp of oil and mix well and let the minced chicken rest for 10 mins.
In case you are preparing the same for evening, then add the onion and corn flour later right before frying the same.

4. Take a non stick pan and spread the minced chicken into a thin layer, giving it a shape similar to a burger patty. Make sure that the layer is not very thin else it will break easily and it is not very thick either, else it will stay raw.

5. Once you're done spreading the chicken to the non stick pan, turn on the flame and add a tbsp of oil from the sides and let the chicken cook on low flame for 2 minutes. Cover the lid and let it cook for a few minutes. After some time you can see that one side of the chicken gets well cooked, carefully turn it around and cook it from the other side as well. Add little bit of oil from the side if required.
This is not going to take more than 10 mins. Once it is done from both the sides, cut the chicken into long pieces as shown in the image and turn off the flame.

The Turkish Adana Kabab is ready to be served, you can have it with salad, mint chutney or ketchup.

Tips, Tricks & Alternatives-
1. If you like spicy food, you can add chopped green chillies to the minced meat.

2. Chilli flakes can be avoided if not available. Kashmiri red chilly powder is also an option.

3. For the binding agent, in case you do not have corn flour, you can use Maida (All purpose flour)  instead.

4. You can grill the same in microwave or bake it in the oven as well.

5. You can make this recipe with Lamb meat too.
